Lazin' on a Sunny Afternoon.

Hello Everyone,

I can't believe how quickly Saturday mornings come around. The Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week is to 'Sing-a-long' I haven't got any Penny Black Stamps with a music theme so I have chosen one of my favourite songs instead.
Sunny Afternoon by The Kinks. (Can't stop singing it in my head now!)

The rubber stamp is called 'kickin' and it just reminds me of being extremely lazy, sitting out in the garden in the sunshine! (hence the line from the song - Lazin' on a sunny afternoon, in the summertime!) I've coloured it with my promarkers.

The background papers are from Nitwits, and I've used a spellbinders die for the border and a Joy!crafts die for the flowers.

Well, it's Hubby's birthday today (He's caught me up again!) and more Hospital visits to see Dad, so must dash!
Have a fab weekend, it's turned very cold here but the sun is trying to poke through!

Thanks for stopping by.

Basket of Roses

Hello Everyone,

This is a very quick post as I'm flying here there and everywhere in between hospital visits. I seem to be rushing everything at the minute, and if I had a bit more time today I would do this card again!!

This stamp is from Lili of the Valley and is called 'Basket of Roses'. I think she's gorgeous! I've coloured her with promarkers.

The background papers are from the Crafters Companion CD - Strawberry Kisses, and the gorgeous flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I haven't even used a Spellbinders die today - the border was made with a Marianne Creatables die!!

I'd like to enter this card into the following Challenges

Lilies Little Fairies - Anything Goes
LOTV Ideas to Inspire - Pink or Mum
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

Thanks for taking the time to visit - I really appreciate any comments you would like to leave.

Bead It!

Hello Everyone,

It's Wednesday Morning which means a brand new challenge at I ♥ ProMarkers. This week we want you to. . . . . . . .  BEAD IT!
We are sponsored by Digi Doodle Shop, and the prize is a $10 gift certificate to spend in their online shop. If you are stuck for inspiration, go and check out what my team mates have done, you'll find some great ideas.

I've used a Digi Doodle image for my card this week. 'It's Louis, Butterflies and Buttercups'.

I've coloured him up with promarkers.  I really enjoyed colouring this image and I think I will definitely be using it again, next time I'm tempted to make Louis a girl and colour him pink!!
The background papers are the gratitude collection from Nitwits - I absolutely love these so I think I will be using them quite a lot!! Now, for the beads. . .

I've added lilac seed beads into the centre of the flowers!

Good luck with this weeks challenge and I can't wait to see what you do!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by. Have a good week.

Lazy Afternoon

Hello everyone,

My card today is for the challenge over at Lilies Little Fairies and it's a sketch by Jacque. Well, what a disaster! I haven't got an oval die, so I tried to find something to draw round - no luck, so I've used a circle instead!

The rubber stamp is the gorgeous 'lazy afternoon'.  I had to make myself put the pens down as I was starting to mess a bit too much!

For the 3 dots down the right hand side I wanted to use a die cut circle with a button in the middle but the circles were too big and the buttons the wrong colour!! I used card candi instead!
The background papers are from First Edition - Spring Feast and the Brown one is a scrap from my box but I think it is  K & Company.

Overall, this card looks nothing like I intended it to, but I love the LOTV stamps and it's helped to grow my crafty shopping list!! - (2nd mortgage looming!)lol !!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, I'm hoping to catch a bit of the Dancing on Ice Final tonight, after hospital visits.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Easter Hedgie!

Good morning Everyone,

Thank you for all your kind wishes about my Dad. He's now been moved to the rehabilitation stroke unit. He's getting a little bit better although we still have a long way to go. The staff at the hospital are absolutely fantastic, they all deserve medals - they work so hard.

Onto today's card. This one is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Easter Eggstraveganza.  I got married at Easter, 9 years ago and we had a church full of daffodils, also around York at this time of year the City walls are covered with daffodils, so I just had to use this gorgeous little hedgie holding a daffodil!! He's called 'Seeing your face'.

I've coloured him with promarkers, and layered up the daffodil head for a bit of depth. The background papers are First Edition , Spring Drop. Using these papers was the only way I could incorporate a cute Easter bunny as I haven't got any PB Easter stamps. . . .yet!! (LOL!)

The fence is a marianne creatables die, and the swirl die is from joy!crafts.

Finally I finished it off with one or two flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. - I'm starting to get hooked on these!!

I'm also going to enter this card in to the challenge at Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
and Penny Black and More - Springtime.

Thank you for visiting and I really love reading your comments. Have a fantastic weekend.

My favourite colour!

Hello Everyone,

It's week 3 of the National Craft Month Event that's running over at Lili of the Valley's Ideas to Inspire Blog. The challenge is to make a card with a 'mum' or 'pink' theme, using one of their girlie images.

This one is Emma Swing and I've coloured her with promarkers, in my favourite colour!

The background papers are from the Nitwits Val 'n tine collection. These are sooo useful, I don't know how I managed without them!lol!! I've used those Spellbinders edgeabilities again as well. . . oh dear, I'm getting a bit predictable!

I've added some of the gorgeous paper flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and a bit of bling. (Oops, I've just noticed that you can see the glue in this photo, as I took the picture before it had time to dry!!)

Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Enjoy the rest of the week.

This image is 'Lenny Notes' from the stamp fairy and it is my very first digi stamp!

I've coloured him with promarkers. The background papers are We R Memory Keepers. I've used a spellbinders edgeability die for the border and finished with a bit of black card candi.

I can't wait to see all your lovely creations!

Midnight Crafting!

Good morning,

Firstly I want to say a BIG Thank you for all your kind comments about my dad. They were lovely to read, and I really appreciate them.
And secondly. .
'Happy Mother's Day' to all the mums out there! I have two lovely handmade cards from Tom and Emma, they're gorgeous!

I've been up in the middle of the night again making cards, just can't sleep. It's turning into a habit, I will have to try harder to sleep!
Last nights card is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes.

I've used a stickeroo for this one. I started to colour an image but made a right old mess of it!! The background paper is from Prima - Fairy Flora. I've used my spellbinders edgeabilities (again!!) And finished with some gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts ( I managed to cover lots of things in really sticky glue!!) and a bit of bling.

The next couple of days are going to be a bit hectic, but hope to get round and see you all soon. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

For My Mum!

Hello everyone,

I'm really sorry I haven't been around to visit you this week, but my Dad had a massive stroke in the early hours of Wednesday morning. I've spent the last few days at the hospital with my Mum, he's very poorly. They come as a pair and she just doesn't know what to do. It's only 8 weeks since we lost my Nana (Dads mum). This was really a blessing as she was 102 years old and in alot of pain but. . .what a year so far!

Anyway sorry for babbling on, I couldn't sleep last night so I got up and made a couple of cards. It really did help me feel a bit calmer just not sure they're any good!!

I know I've used this image on a few of my cards already but it's my mums favourite and I wanted to make her a nice card for tomorrow. She doesn't like things overly fussy so was a bit worried about the ribbon but I think she'll like it. The butterfly background paper is from a 'Pepper & Friends' collection.

I've coloured her up with promarkers and added some glitter on the wings.  I've finished off with the usual joy!crafts die flowers and a bit of ribbon.

I was hoping to go to the GNPE at Harrogate today, but it's the hospital instead. So if you are there have a great day. I'll save my pennies for the next one!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and I promise to visit you all soon.

The Young Ones

Good Morning Everyone,

Why is it than on a school day morning I have to drag my children out of bed but on a Saturday and Sunday they are up at the crack of dawn??!!  My daughter got up at 6.15am today, when I told her it was too early, she said ' but the sky is blue and the sun's shining!'. . . .so we got up!

At least I got chance to do my card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge - The Young Ones, which I didn't have chance to do yesterday.

I've used my new stamp 'sweet thing'. I bought this one thinking it would be useful for cards for my daughters friends who are 4 and 5 years old so it fits this weeks challenge perfectly! I've coloured her with promarkers.

The background paper are from Val'n tine too from Nitwits and the Crafters Companion Strawberry Kisses CD. I have been a bit lazy as the papers were already on my desk, and I just had to use pink for a little girls card!! I really must get my room organised!
I've used a spellbinders edgeability die for the border and a joy!crafts die for the flowers.

It looks like it's going to be a lovely day here today so I might be able to get some work done in the garden. Hope it's nice where you are.

Have a good Sunday and thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Springtime.

Hello,

Yipeee, it's the weekend - no school run!! This is another card that I made yesterday. I've used one of the new Lili of the Valley stamps, 'Pretty Bouquet'. It's a gorgeous stamp but I'm not so sure I've done her justice!

I've coloured her with promarkers, in my favourite colour, pink! The background papers are from a crafters companion CD, strawberry kisses. I thought they were lovely spring colours.

I've used a spellbinders edgeability die for the strip down the side and cut some corners from a scrap of card at the other side.

I've added some flowers from WOC, they are white blossom flowers and 15mm roses and a 25mm tea rose.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges

LOTV - Pink Card
Penny Black Allsorts - Springtime
Joanna Sheen - Spring is in the Air
Papertake Weekly- Anything Goes

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and for any comments you make.

Get in Shape with ribbon and lace!

Hello everyone,

I dropped the kids at school this morning, rushed to the supermarket, forgot half my shopping, cleaned the bathroom in super speedy time,  just in the hope of getting a couple of hours in my craft room before having to go and get the kids from school!

I'm not very good at doing lace and ribbons and all that jazz but I've had a go today.

The rubber stamp is from Lili of the Valley, and called 'Spring swing'. Such a cute little rabbit!

The background paper are Spring Drop from First Edition. The papers had little cute rabbits on as well but I think I've hidden them all!

The flowers are from wild orchid crafts. They are sweetheart blossoms, roses, and the deeper purple flowers might be cherry blossom - I'm not sure as they were a free gift with my last order. The lace and ribbon were from my stash, and I've added a joy!crafts die flourish and a bit of bling!

I've never put so much on one card!!

I'd like to enter the following challenges

Well it's nearly the weekend, yipeee! Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

I'm really not a peaches girl!!

Hi Everyone,

Well I finally got my Lili of the Valley card finished after the first 3 attempts made it to the bin! The challenge this week is peaches and cream and oh my was it a challenge!! I'm still not sure about the card but decided that I either post this one or nothing at all.

I love the LOTV image, but I really struggled with the background papers. I couldn't find anything peachy! This one is from the First Edition Spring Drop paper pad.I coloured the image with promarkers and then stamped the image a second  time and cut her out. I also added a bit of glitter to her wings.

I used a spellbinders edgeability die and a Joy!crafts die for the flowers. I didn't have any peach card candi for the centre of the flowers so I used white ones and coloured them with promarkers. The Joy crafts flower die seams to be making it onto most of my cards but I've just ordered lots of paper flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts so I'll be able to have a play when they arrive!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by. Have a fab week.

Another Little Gift Hedgy!

Hi Everyone,

What a morning! I'm lucky if I get a couple of hours to myself on a saturday morning so when I do I like to try and make a couple of cards. This mornings efforts are a complete disaster!!! My Lili of the valley challenge, peaches and cream card has gone in the bin. . . .twice!! This one was my 3rd attempt at a card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Case it Card by Domi.
Sometimes you get an idea in your head for a card and it just won't work but you can't get rid of the idea??!! Well that's what happened. I started by drawing around a plate to get a large circle but it looked like my 4 year old had cut it out. . . . .so it got smaller!! This meant my new rubber stamp was too big so I've gone back to the good old 'gift hedgy'.

I think this challenge is turning into, 'How many different cards I can make with the one rubber stamp!' I coloured the little hedgy with promarkers and cut him out.

I have absolutely no idea where the background papers are from, they were scraps from my box. I've used a martha stewart border punch and joy!crafts die for the flowers.
I don't know if I'll get back in my craft room to sort out the LOTV card this weekend, it might be good to leave it alone for a while.lol!!
I've promised my daughter we would bake cakes this afternoon so I'm off to make a mess in my kitchen!
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and for any comments you might like to leave.
Have a fab weekend
